East Coast Squash Academy

East Coast Squash Academy is focused on developing pathways from Start-up to Professional with the players moving through the squads and programs as their skills develop.

Start-up Squads: Entry level squad providing a fun environment to develop a solid skills base for squash and developing player confidence on court. Will be a combination of racquet and non-racquet based games.

Junior Development Squad: Targeting the talented players identified during the start-up squads aged 8 - 13 years. These children will build up to one squad session a week, one coaching lesson a week and a competition on a Saturday. They will participate in junior competition and enter Sydney based matrix competitions.

Advanced Development: Is the next development for juniors from 13 to 20. These juniors do a Saturday squad, coaching session and a comp game once a week. An advanced junior developing player is competing at state championships, national championships and potentially international championships (pending standard).

Elite Development: Is aimed at the top juniors looking to play professionally. This is an intensive program that covers all aspects of a player’s game and fitness management. It requires strong commitment from these players, who will be playing PSA and WSA tournaments during the year in addition to their East Coast Squash Academy program.

Squash Camps and Clinics:

Junior:
Intensive 3 -5 day programs targeted at top juniors (both local and international) who want to step to the next level of competition. Programs will involve setting a skills and fitness baseline and then improving and measuring progress against the baseline.

Adults:
Intensive 2-3 day program targeted for players all standards (both local and international) who want to step to the next level of competition. Programs will involve setting a skills and fitness baseline and then improving and measuring progress against the baseline.

Adult Coaching:
While the future of the game rest with the juniors, East Coast Squash Academy also recognises that there is a strong market for adult coaching and conditioning and will provide a number of coaching services for competition players wishing to further develop their game.

Vision:
East Coast Squash Academy will introduce children to squash and provide the right environment for them to grow into elite players and the talented few into squash professionals; ultimately growing squash into a significant sport within Australia again.

The East Coast Squash Academy provides squash coaching at all levels of the game from beginner through to professional players.

Services provided include:-
• Individual and group coaching

The coaching programs offered by East Coast Squash Academy have been developed by squash professionals with strong international reputations.

The Academy is looking to attract the top juniors to participate in the programs either via squash camps or to join the coaching squads, as well as growing its own juniors. The reputations of both Aaron Frankcomb and Michelle Martin mean that East Coast Squash Academy can position itself at the top end of the sports coaching market.

The East Coast Squash Academy professional coaches are headed by former professional players Michelle Martin and Aaron Frankcomb; both have strong international networks and coaching reputations. Michelle is currently number 3 on the WSA All-time player list having previously held the world number 1 ranking for 44 months and is currently the Masters Women’s O45 World Champion.

Aaron Frankcomb is a former World number 38 and has represented Australia both as a junior and more recently at the Delhi Commonwealth Games. In 2013 both Michelle and Aaron were the NSW Junior State team coaches for the Australian Junior Championships.
